Well, Jesse certainly didn't start out big. His first reviewing fix started with the Reader Review section on Zombiekeeper.com, one of Rose's first forums of interest. Eventually it lead him to Nate Yapp and his offer of contributing to a movie review site called The Reel Critics. Intrigued at the potential, Jesse soon jumped on as quickly as he could.
They tried, but it didn't work out. The Reel Critics was a rushed design that didn't directly demand very much attention, so it wasn't any surprise that Yapp soon merged with FilmHobbit.com and let loose all of the staff except one. Jesse still isn't sure exactly who that was, but you can be certain he's reserved a nasty atomic wedgie for one so accomplished!
Feeling saddened at the emotions of abandonment, Jesse's faithful fanboy bossman Chris Gaskey, one of the former Reel Critics reviewers, eventually began another review site called the Hollyweird Webzine, made for those who had survived the nasty spill (namely, Jenn and Jesse himself). But like the Reel Critics, it had a less motivated drive, as did the other sites made by the other severed reviewers. As time went on and work was overlooked, they all found that it was high time to create a site in which all of the ex-Reel-Critics and new staffers alike could come together and generate a power unknown to the Internet. It was time to create a fellowship of reviewers who would make their standing gold online. It was time for the Movie Compound. And so that road began. |
